The image of coffee in America has gone through a lot of evolving over the years. When the country was founded, coffee was a symbol of trade around the British Empire, then came the years of the cowboys on the trail drinking water mixed with mud and calling it coffee. After that we had the businessman getting their morning cup on the way to the office and now we have the image of the indie coffee shop with the tattooed baristas and more add-ons than an assault rifle in Call of Duty.
However, a planned shop for the Woodlands area just North of Houston has an entirely new idea for coffee that they are hoping will catch on around the nation. The idea that coffee is best served when it packs a little extra heat.
Operator Coffee Inc. is looking to bring about a new haven for gun fanatics who also need their daily dose of caffeine in the North Houston suburb. The coffee shop will allow and encourage customers to wear their guns inside the store and will be looking to hire baristas who are licensed to carry firearms to be there and be armed while on the clock.
On top of just being a pro-gun coffee shop, Operator Coffee Inc. is also looking to start up a group they have dubbed “The Operators Club” which will serve as a meetup group for veterans, law enforcement, and pro-gun citizens to talk politics, guns, and will even be looking to schedule range trips for the customers.
The shop announced its plans to open in 2018 via their Instagram page and has been posting little beauties such as the following for several days now…
It’s definitely interesting to see a business take on an industry that is so out of their wheelhouse politically. And for many, it comes as a welcome relief when considering all of the businesses that prohibit guns to have a place to go where they can both be allowed to carry and be welcomed with open arms for doing so.
