Armed Fort Worth Homeowner Shoots and Kills Home Invader
Don’t mess with Texas has never been in more full of swing after this week. The tragedy in Sutherland Springs being halted by a hero who put himself at risk to defend the congregation and now this story of a homeowner defending himself and his property from a would-be burglar.
The incident occurred at around 7:00 in the evening at a home in the 10800 block of Camp Bowie Boulevard in Fort Worth and started just around the time the homeowner was tucking his children into bed. As he was in his children’s room, the homeowner heard someone attempting to break down his front door.
After hearing this, the man ran towards the door where he got into a small fight with the invader that actually ended with the homeowner getting stabbed, though later medical reports stated that his injury is minor and not at all life-threatening.
Seeing as this situation was more dangerous than the homeowner first thought, he decided that he needed to grab his handgun and because the home invader continued to attempt his break-in, the homeowner simultaneously dialed 911 and confronted the invader.
According to dispatchers, they could hear the man who was breaking in screaming threats and tearing up the homeowner’s house before the homeowner had to make the call to defend his wife and children and finally shot the man breaking in.
The homeowner continued to have his gun trained on the criminal until police arrived, but by the time they made it to the scene the home invader had already succumbed to his injuries and died.
Police are not planning on charging the homeowner for the defensive shooting, as he was well within his rights to defend himself and his family.
