As has been said many times on this website and throughout history in general, “Don’t mess with Texas” or more specifically, don’t mess with armed Texans. A recent incident involving a burglar in Katy has become prime proof of that statement.
Our story begins back on July 27th, as the homeowner of our tale noticed some noises coming from his attached garage. Deciding to go and investigate, the man quickly discovered that something was wrong, as upon opening the door to his garage, he saw a 19-year-old man attempting to break into his parked car.
Luckily for the homeowner, he armed himself following the decision to go and investigate the noise and soon enough he was face-to-face with the masked burglar.
Upon seeing the criminal, the homeowner pointed his handgun at him and told him to stop what he was doing. Then the young criminal made a huge mistake, beginning to advance towards the armed homeowner against his wishes and commands.
It was at this point, according to local police that the homeowner fired one round towards the advancing home invader. The shot grazed the young man in the head and caused him to run for dear life.
As the criminal bolted off into the night, the homeowner called the police, who began to search for the young man quickly finding him with help of a K-9 unit. After finding the criminal, police called for emergency services to take him to a nearby medical center for his injuries, which it is expected he will survive from before heading off to jail due to his crimes.
As for the homeowner, due to his quick actions and his being armed he suffered no injuries and no lost property during the incident.
