It’s Official:Texas Constitutional Carry Bill Signed into Law

It has been a long road, but Texans can rejoice now that Governor Abbot has finally signed his name to HB 1927. The Firearm Carry Act removes the requirement that Lone Star State citizens obtain a permission slip before carrying a concealed handgun, known as constitutional carry.

I’m happy for you Texans. I still think it important to get some training before you accidentally shoot yourself or your love ones. A good instructor class will show you how to take your gun apart and clean it. They will also show you the proper stance and aiming procedure and how to hold it properly. They won’t show you how to bury the bodies.

Good Luck. I wish our state had it too.

The law should have required that you go through at the very least, a basic gun safety class. Many people know how to fire a weapon but they may have never been to a shooting range, open desert, wilderness area, or an area they can safely (and legally) practice their shooting skills. Like Mike Schuttler mentioned above, It Is Vital and (Your Responsibility) to get some proper training, whether it be from a professional instructor or a friend or relative that actually knows the proper use and handling of firearms. (Not just someone who claims they know!) Once the bullet leaves your weapon, YOU are responsible for any injuries, damage and lives, whether it was an accidental discharge or you missed your intended target. Bullets, (depending on the caliber and weight) can travel from thousands of feet to several miles, so if you are not careful or don’t know what you are doing, you could kill someone and not even know it, (until later)!! *** A firearm in trained hands can save your life, but just as easily kill an innocent bystander if you don’t know how to use it! ***

    BE A GOOD CITIZEN.
Please proceed with care and consideration. Don’t be flaunting your carry with a
“f** you” attitude, or a “Don’t mess with me” tude.. Remember that even your mother didn’t approve of that type of behavior.

    BE KIND.
Show respect for the feelings of others who do not understand, and are genuinely afraid of weapons. Many of them may have suffered trauma from weapons in the past (suicide, accidental shooting, violent crime, etc.).

You should aim to make them comfortable that you are civil and can be there to help them avoid becoming victims of violent crimes. After all, that is one of your rationals for carrying, isn’t it?
